Voting from another country

Voters who live or are staying in a foreign country can vote in advance at Norwegian embassies and other foreign service missions or at other appointed returning officers from 1 July 2023.

You can vote in advance at most Norwegian embassies, general consulates and consulates - and that other appointed returning officers.

Are you unable to get to a returning officer?

If you are in a foreign country, but you cannot get to a returning officer,
you can vote by letter post.

When is the deadline for voting in a foreign country?

The deadline for voting in advance in a foreign country is 1 September, but you are yourself responsible for voting early enough so that your vote arrives at the correct municipality at the latest 17.00 on the day after election day 11 September. Remember to vote early enough so that your vote arrives in time by regular post.

Voters resident in foreign countries do not receive polling cards - but
remember to bring your ID.
