Voting on election day
Election day is 11 September. In many municipalities it is also possible to vote on 10 September.
On these days you must vote in the municipality where you are registered in the Central Population Register as resident as of 30 June this year.
Where are the polling stations and when do they open?

Remember to take ID with you
You must bring your ID with you when you go to vote. It is not sufficient
to have your polling card or to just state your name and date of birth.
It is not necessary to bring your polling card in order to vote.
How to vote
Select the ballot paper you want to use: One for the municipal council election and one for the county council election, if you want to vote in both elections.
If you want to give one or more candidates a personal vote, you can put a tick in the box next to the candidate’s name on the ballot paper. You can give as many personal votes as you want (see guide below).
Fold the ballot papers with the party name facing in, and the field where the stamp goes, facing out – that way, nobody can see what you are voting for. Do not use an envelope or other cover around the ballot papers.
Go to an election offi cial and get a stamp on your ballot papers. This is important – or your vote may be rejected.
Drop your ballot papers into the ballot box.
How to give a personal vote
If you want to influence specifically which candidates are elected, you can give a personal vote to any candidates you want to give an extra boost. It is your choice whether you want to change the ballot paper by adding a personal vote. Directions for giving personal votes are also printed on the ballot paper.
Personal votes in the municipal council election
Put a tick in the box next to the candidate’s name if you want to give them a personal vote.You can give a personal vote to as many candidates as you want.
Add candidate names from other parties/ groups in a separate fi eld on the ballot paper. The ballot paper will specify how many names you can add.
