Applying for grants

Applications can be submitted for grant funds for information initiatives in October in the year before the election. The application deadline is 15 November of that same year.

The goal of the grant scheme is to improve voters' knowledge about the election and to increase voter turnout.

Grant recipients can spend them on covering their expenses linked to information initiatives such as campaigns, websites, the production and distribution of information materials, and so on.

Priority target groups

Initiatives targeted at young voters, voters with immigrant backgrounds, and voters who need specially adapted information will be prioritised.

Who can apply for grants?

Organisations and other stakeholders registered in the Register of Legal Entities/Register of Non-Profit Organisations can apply for grants. The initiative applying for the grant must be neutral from a party-political perspective. Individuals, municipalities, county authorities, and political parties cannot apply for these grants.
